The book is 185mm (w) x 252mm (h) in size. This dimension is easy to read while provides sufficient space for presenting the real size of the archival items. It’s designed with accuracy and consistency to present a huge volume of content in different formats (essays in Chinese and English, photos, illustrations, and infographics). The inside back on the book jacket is a reproduction of the site map of the exhibition site with its original size to indicate the location of the Hong Kong Section.

FSC paper was used for printing.

Minimalist design was applied. Five colours (royal blue, royal red, yellow, black and white) are chosen for the book as they correspond to the national flags of the United Kingdom and the Republic of China. The colours visualise Hong Kong’s special position between two big countries.
